New York City - Manhattan

Woohoo, you found a chapter near you! Are you doing your happy dance yet?? Now is your chance to belong to a community that will have your back, lift you up, see your greatness, and listen to what you have to say. It's a community that not only lives in your town, but exists all around the world. Joining a local chapter will light you up from the inside out - you will get to express, discover and love exactly who you are alongside girls doing the same. You will be part of a culture that stands for each other and speaks whatever truth there is to share, without limitations.

I want to be part of the growing and relentless voice of women across the United States! This starts by advocating for young women and getting involved in a community of exceptional humans.

I am looking to find a community of strong women who I can learn from, support, and befriend. I would love to grow alongside them, as well as help them aid our neighborhood. I want to discover and express myself, and I know these amazing women would be able to help me do so. I am excited about the prospect of learning from other women, and surrounding myself with positive, strong, and kind girls, who are looking to lift one another to new heights.

The possibility of connecting with, empowering, and supporting other women in this chapter, as well as in the community. We need girls to support girls, not tear them down.

Hiya! I started a chapter during my undergrad at VCU in Richmond, VA. I just moved to NYC by myself and could really use some support/a power circle of friends. I’d love to join!

I want to shatter the perception both on a professional and personal level that girls are always in constant competition with each other. We should be supporting each other and being each others cheerleaders. I want girls to feel that SUPPORT and feel EMPOWERED to follow their dreams! I want to be a part of this movement, because WHO RUN THE WORLD? GIRL !

I’m excited to meet women like myself who are not only looking to be inspired, but also TO inspire! I love hearing about how others have overcome and achieved (especially here in NYC), and would love the opportunity to share and learn with a great network of diverse women.

I am excited about being able to step into a circle where girls have a common goal and mission to rise above and be better for themselves, not others. I sat with a friend yesterday reading this site and immersing myself in Alexis and her mission. In a moment of vulnerability I later ended up nursing the vulnerability hangover for, was sharing how I had been date raped my senior year of college by a friend. How i know multiple instances of this happening on campus and how it just accepted and not addressed. I have been through the stages of pain, suffering, grieving and know have recently moved into a place of acceptance and gratitude for the experience because it brought me exactly where I am now. It took me years to tell other people besides my boyfriend, to remove the layers of shame I left accumulate on top of me and my self worth and I want to be a rock or a voice to another. if i can be a reason a guy second guesses the peer pressure to roofie a girl on a friday or be there to listen to a girl who has been through some sort of experience she feels was a violation to her own self, I will feel like we are making a difference together.

Hello everyone! I was a part of the LA Chapter for IATG and it gave me such a positive outlook on life, while gaining life long friendship. I recently moved to NYC due to a job transfer and would love to become a part of the IATG NYC Manhattan Chapter. It’s great to be a part of a group that supports and empowers women.

I learned of I AM THAT GIRL after reading the first two interviews of the series featured in InStyle magazine. I felt more empowered just by reading about the successful and encouraging women in the articles and want to contribute to sharing this positive culture for women. How can I help progress this amazing mission?!

Hey! Reading IATG inspired me so much and I would LOVE to get involved and become a part of a community with other THAT girls here in NYC. All connections I have made since moving here three years ago have not been very positive and I am really longing for a supportive and positive family of women to spread positivity and encouragement around because IT. IS. NEEDED.
