My name is Brette Sims and I am a LMU alumn! LMU is such a passion in my life as well as girls and women empowerment! I am an LMU art grad and I started a company from my senior thesis at LMU! My company is called STUK DESIGNS! STUK DESIGNS, (pronounced “stuck”) stands for Strong, Talented, United, & Knowledgeable. STUK is a Feminist Art Organization that brands & empowers girls & women, providing self-love education for girls in school & women in career/the workplace. All sales proceeds of #STUKGIRL art & merchandise go towards our programming for girls & women!

STUK DESIGNS educates through the philosophy of placing “self-love first”. We believe that the only way to achieve lasting success is to love yourself! We believe that by teaching young girls self-love, they will carry that love through their adolescence & into their adult careers! Self-love propels the girls we teach, into women of purpose, who do what they love for a living! We uplift & educate through creative self-love workshops, events & artistic tools!

Me and STUK DESIGNS would love to support your chapter in anyway that we can! I would love to bring self-love art workshops to your chapter! I would love to support your events, as I can create flyers, signage, banners, photobooth backdrops and fun artistic elements! I can creatively help you create campaigns or make your instagram content more fun, personalized and creative! I am also starting an after school program for little girls that I would love to have some LMU girls support me with! I am so excited to connect with you ladies.

Last Friday I had a conference call with Liz, Eunice and Hailey of I AM THAT GIRL! I spoke to them about my company STUK DESIGNS partnering with them and we are starting that connecting process! I think LMU would be a great place for me to begin my partnership with I AM THAT GIRL!

I am a breathwork instructor and I am interested in teaching a breathwork class or workshop for your organization at LMU. If you are not familiar with breathwork, it helps us to let go of any negative emotions, trauma, or painful experiences we have gone through in life in order to step into the best version of ourselves. I bring in a lot of empowerment, self-love, and stepping into your greatness into my classes. I am also an empowerment and self-esteem coach for girls. If breathwork sounds like something of interest to bring into your chapter, I would love to hear back from you. My email is breannakulwin@gmail.com. I would be happy to give you more information about breathwork and how I teach it.

    With Light,

    Breanna Kulwin

I’ve always felt like I have a fire inside of me that wants to burn down society’s standards and expectations for girls. It’s easy to feel nervous to speak out about what matters to you when the people around you don’t have the same passion surrounding the issues that you do. As a part of IATG, I would be able to talk with other girls with similar views as myself and who have just as much drive as I do to make a change and start a revolution in 2017. There are endless topics and subcategories under the general term of “Feminism” that I would love to address and explore and I hope to use IATG as an outlet to be able to do so.

So I just finished reading Alexis Jones’ I Am That Girl book, and wow, let me say that was the ultimate pep talk, and advice i so desperately needed at this point in my life. I am a senior at LMU, and I wouldn’t say I’m scared to the enter the real world, but I’m frustrated because there are so many things I want in my life, but don’t necessarily know how to achieve them. Reading the I Am That Girl book made me realize I’m not alone. No one knows how to get from point A to point B, but that is part of what defines me. My ambition, passion, and not letting fear get me down. I want to join the chapter to find like minded individuals who want to support each other and build each other up. In 2016 i made it a goal of mine to define the term self worth for myself. I think I have done a pretty good job, but I now realize it will be an ongoing journey to feel confident in myself on a day to day basis. I feel motivated and empowered right now by I Am That Girl and I’m going to continue to keep this mentality going forward into the new year. xo, Jordan

I was raised to believe that, with hard work and big dreams, I could be, do or have anything. I know the power that gives a person. I want to share that. I’m an artist, and one of my 2017 projects is all about empowering girls. I believe this is the year of the girl and I want to go BIG!

I want to be a part of a community where I can stand up for others, the way I once needed someone to stand up for me.

I Am That Girl actually came to my high school, Notre Dame San Jose 5 or so years ago. The LMU I AM THAT GIRL page just followed me on Instagram, and I actually had no idea that LMU had a chapter. I am a marketing student and would love to join and help get more people involved! Please contact me :) -Kristen
