It's a community that not only lives in your town, but exists all around the world. I am That Girl is an organization I wish touched my life during the time of my formative years. In school, I never saw myself as a leader. I thought I just was not meant for that. And as far back as I can remember I have had low-self esteem associated with my appearance and what I could accomplish in life. Now, after graduating college I know my potential and my strength and wish I knew my power before. It is important for girls to cultivate their power and leadership skills and I believe IATG’s programs and classes present a brilliant effort to do just that. I would be honored to be a part of the LA chapter and hopefully spread IATG’S message to schools closer to my community in the San fernando Valley.

    Hi Kate,

Women deserve to be empowered! I realized my bisexuality not that long ago and have realized I love being with women! Men are NOT all bad but there is so much I’ve realized in the past few years about the subtle ways women are still discriminated against and I can’t believe it! It all comes down to a personal level to truly inspire young women though and I would love to help provide that in some way. I’m an actress in LA and I’m new in town so I don’t have a lot in the way of contributions but time. I look forward to meeting such an empowering group of strong girls in LA!

I am a strong, brave feminist and I am ready for my voice to be heard. I can’t wait to stand with other girls for what’s right and to use our power for good.

As a model, I have personally experienced and seen so many other girls experience mental illness deriving from unhealthy societal pressures. With that said, I would like to be inspired by other young women and inspire others as well so we can ultimately all end up helping one another heal and grow.

I was involved with IATG in college and it was an amazing experience. I’ve never felt so vulnerable until our first retreat and it was a moment I’ll always remember!

Hi there! What excites me most is meeting and chatting with empowered women coming together to be who they exactly are without any filters. I look forward to the authentic and fulfilling conversations, that will hopefully teach me new lessons in life and overall help me become a better person.

Hi! I’m in the San Fernando Valley and love everything IATG stands for! I too have fallen to self-doubt, social anxiety, and a need for acceptance, but my move from the east coast to LA took me out of a toxic situation and already made me a happier, more self-loving person. I want to join a community of young women who look to inspire and uplift others, and I look forward to being involved in the community.

Hey from Mid-City, I found out about the organization after Emily Greener was the guest on one of my favorite LA based podcasts, So Retrograde. The community aspect and focus on female empowerment really spoke to something that I feel could be nurtured in my life. I would love to check out a chapter meeting and get involved!

Hi! I live in Studio City and am looking to get more involved with IATG. I first heard about it at Chapman University, which has a club/chapter, but I never really joined and I totally regret it! Are there any meetings/events coming up? I work pretty late during the week (until 7pm, yay TV industry!) But I’m free late on weeknights and any time on the weekends.

I just read the book! I am uber excited to become a part of this amazing community that strives to bring out THE BEST in girls and women.

I have been volunteering as a mentor since 2011. I have volunteered with ten or more organizations throughout Los Angeles. I hold a bachelors degree in criminal Justice and a certificate in nonprofit management.

My life goal is to encourage and inspire people to be true to themselves and live their dreams.

Hi! I am Shannon and I would love to be involved with this beautiful organization and the Los Angeles chapter. I am a young entrepreneur and love to encourage young women to follow their dreams just as I did. I have mentored, been a “big sister” and had interns in my office for years now but I am That Girl is exactly what I have been looking for! I’d love to learn more and become involved. Thank you!
